East to Eastward is an artistic documentary film, exploring the land, culture, and people of Estonia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Myanmar and Thailand. With a soundscape inspired from on-location sounds and local instruments, the film will take you on a mesmerizing journey from Eastern Europe towards Asia. It is a road movie, taking a crew of seven Estonians through some of the most exotic places on earth. For me this exotic means the unknown but also the distorted understanding of some of these places for a western person. The film shows the reality.
