East to Eastward is an artistic documentary film, exploring the land, culture, and people of Estonia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Myanmar and Thailand. With a soundscape inspired from on-location sounds and local instruments, the film will take you on a mesmerizing journey from Eastern Europe towards Asia. It is a road movie, taking a crew of seven Estonians through some of the most exotic places on earth. For me this exotic means the unknown but also the distorted understanding of some of these places for a western person. The film shows the reality.



”All right, I have had this idea coming back to me time after time for several years now. I like to travel and I like freedom that comes with it. The best way to travel is when you know that your final destination is the place you really love and like. And what makes it even more exciting is that the road we have chosen this time hides many of the most interesting places on earth. This is not an usual tourist trip from A to B, it is something much more bigger and deeper.
